Crock Pot - Chicken & Sausage Gumbo
You can make this dish as spicy as you like, it surely tastes good when the weather is cool, and it makes a wonderful dish for company! Cole slaw goes great with this dish.
Ingredients
- 3/4 C flour
- 1/2 lbs smoked sausage sliced
- 3/4 lbs chicken breasts cooked & shredded
- 1 C chopped onion
- 1/2 C chopped green pepper
- 1/2 C chopped celery
- 8 water
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 1/2 t Cajun seasoning
- 1 t salt
- 1/4 t black pepper
- 1/2 t dried thyme
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- dash of hot sauce
- 3/4 C sliced green onions
- 4 C hot cooked rice
Instructions
- Prepare chicken breasts & shred. Set aside. Brown sausage, onion, & green pepper in skillet. Drain fat. In Crock-Pot, combine chicken, sausage mixture, celery, water, & seasonings. Cover and cook on ow 6-8 hours or on High 3-4 hours. Serve over rice & garnish with green onions.
