There is no other place to be than a Farmers Market on Mothers Day. Mom can choose her favorite flower, her favorite dish to prepare for her family, a special gift, a special meal, a place to meet her family or friends, and a place to listen to John Youngblood and his energizing music. Mom can even bring her dancing shoes.
This Sunday at the Windsor Farmers Market, Mei Ibach will teach the importance of tea at 11:00 a.m. in the Sparks Memorial Stage. Mei, an instructor at the Santa Rosa Junior College Culinary School, will bring teas of many countries and the tastes and importance of tea to the body will inspire all. Joining Mei, will be pastry chef Tracy Mattson, who has made a special artisanal cookie for Mothers Day – a great shortbread/chocolate cookie that pares well with teas and dipping. Tracy will tell about her Pastry Chef career from James Beard to France to Healdsburg’s Michelin rated Cyrus Restaurant, and now a regular at our Farmers Market each Sunday. Don’t miss this.
Each mother will be given a Rose, courtesy of Atrellis Flower and Gifts, an Old Downtown Flower and Gift Shop. In case you feel like Chocolate, don’t miss Doug Peters Chocolate Truffles. I swear, the best you ever had – and handmade by Doug himself – all made with local products of our Sonoma-Marin Daries.
Whether Mom brings the family or the family brings mom, it’s a guarantee it will be the best Mothers Day ever for all. And in case no one wants to cook – there’s a great menu at the market and enough picnic tables for the whole family.
