I ran across this recipe by accident in a hand written cook book that is very old ... and it's sooooooo good ... a bit of prep work, and well worth it. Makes GREAT gifts!
6 bell peppers (any color)
3 small red hot peppers
1# seedless raisins
1 pt. vinegar
2 C. brown sugar (I use 1 cup, less sweet)
2 C. granulated white sugar (same here, 1 cup)
1 T. ground cloves
2 T. ground cinnamon
1/3 C. salt
Put all of the veggies through a food chopper … or pulse in your food processor (not too fine)! Add the rest of the ingredients to a large pot and boil slowly about 2 hours until thick, stirring often. Seal in hot sterilized pint jars. Makes 9 pints.
