There is nothing like baked onions! They are so simple, and so delicious. They go with any dish ... and you can dress them up or dress them down by adding your favorite spice before baking.
6 medium-sized white, red or sweet onions (they do taste different)
herbs of your choice (optional)
Place peeled onions in a baking dish. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes. Cut in half to serve. Sprinkle with salt (and or spices) before serving. Place a pat of butter on top of the hot onions.
These are also great served room temperature … eat them with or on anything!
